  • What is the difference between hand-crafted mixed media artworks and digital prints?

    • Hand-made prints are hand carved and hand pulled. They are normally enriched by other interventions with various techniques such as inks, gouache, pencils, gold leaf. These prints are very time consuming to produce and present slight variations, making each of them one-of-a-kind.
    • Digital prints are the reproductions of a hand-made print or design, they are faster to produce and have a lower price.
  • How are the digital fine art prints printed?

Digital fine art prints are produced using a Giclée printing process with pigment-based inks on archival quality paper. The key steps are:

    1. The original artwork is or photographed at high resolution to create a digital file.
    2. The digital file is color corrected and retouched to match the original artwork as closely as possible.
    3. Test prints are made to ensure the colors and details are accurate before the final print run.
    4. The artwork is printed using a inkjet printer with 12-color pigment-based inks on archival quality paper Hahnemühle Photorag Bright White, a 100% cotton, acid-free, 310 gr museum grade paper.
    5. The prints are carefully inspected and packaged to protect them from damage.

This Giclée printing process produces fine art prints that are highly detailed, vibrant in color, and archival – meaning they are fade-resistant and can last over 75-100 years with proper care.

Shipping FAQs

  • Why do you ship handmade artwork only to Europe?

We ship from Italy, where the bureaucracy is just stupid complex. To send original artworks out of Europe, the procedure is so complicated and time-consuming that it really doesn’t make any sense. On the other hand, digital fine art prints don’t have this limitation, so we can offer them to our customers worldwide.

  • How are the artworks packed and shipped?

All prints are shipped unframed, protected in a cellophane bag and either a cardboard envelope or box, depending on the quantity ordered.

  • After I place my order, how long does it take for my prints to be shipped?

Shipping times depend on the type of prints you order and the quantity:

    • Ready-to-ship prints: These prints are in stock and ready to ship very quickly, normally within 1 business day.
    • Made-to-order prints: These prints are custom made after you place your order, so they have a longer lead time of 5 to 7 business days.
    • Large orders: Orders with a high quantity of prints may take longer to process and ship, as they require more time to produce.

Once your order ships, you will receive tracking information so you can follow its progress. If you have any other questions about shipping times or need an estimated delivery date, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to provide more details based on the specifics of your order.

Care and Maintenance FAQs

  • How do I clean the prints?

You don’t need to clean the prints. Instead, take these steps to keep your artwork looking its best:

    1. Avoid dust and dirt: Make sure your print is not exposed to dust or anything that could make it dirty.
    2. Frame it promptly: Once you receive your print, frame it as soon as possible to protect it.
    3. Never use liquids: Do not use any sort of liquid on the print, as this would damage it. Liquids can cause the ink to run or the paper to warp.

By following these simple steps, you can preserve your print’s condition and enjoy it for years to come.
